About us
Why
Whether it be walking down the street, catching a bus, sitting in a park, pushing a stroller, or asking a stranger for help - women experience cities differently than men.
These unique experiences have long gone unconsidered and unaddressed, perpetuating inequalities through our built environment.
Canadian cities have not been built for everyone. It’s past time that they are.
Canadian women earn about 80% of men’s full-time, full year wages
57.8% of transit commuters in the GTA are women
33% of Canadian women have experienced unwanted sexual behaviour in public
Canadian women are 12% less likely to cycle than men
One in seven Canadian women who had been harassed on the street missed work, one in five missed school, and nearly one in three moved or considered moving
